Our partnership with Novell gives you confidence that you're getting the most reliable/highest performance server platform available. We focus on what you need - not a list of features you don't understand.  And only FileEngine gives you everything you need, including standard installation, monitoring and Offsite backup, for less than $8/day!  It's like hiring an IT Consultant for less than $1/hr!

How can FileEngine cost thousands less than other servers?  FileEngine doesn't use software that costs more the more you use it.  We build-in maintenance, so there's no additional charge for monitoring, backup, updates, service packs or patches.  FileEngine is immune to the viruses and other threats that attack Microsoft Windows Server based systems.  FileEngine simply costs less to support.  Simple is better.

The Details

  1. You rent the FileEngine the way you rent a car: We are responsible for the regular maintenance & service.
  2. You get to use it as much as you want. There are no per user charges and the license does not limit the number of PCs you may attach to it.
  3. Like a rental car, at the end of the rental we get the FileEngine back - you don't get to keep it. By that time we will arrange to send you a new one if you want to continue using FileEngine. Most of our customers do.
  4. We will provide a replacement FileEngine in the event of a major system failure. However, you are responsible for providing your most recent backup so we can help you restore your data. The model FE1025 can store more information than can be backed up nightly. You are responsible to make archive copies of the excess data and keep them in a safe place.
  5. We supply a quantity of backup media (100 DVD-R or 100 DVD-DL or 10 DLT 160/320GB tapes.) This is enough to get you started, but you will eventually need to buy more. We can only assure that your backup will work if you use the media we recommend and follow our instructions to correct backup problems.
  6. We monitor your backup and several other performance variables of your FileEngine remotely. We will let you know if something is wrong. It is possible that you may lose data back to the point of your most recent backup. If you require additional data protection measures, please advise us BEFORE you sign the Customer Service Agreement.
  7. We may access your FileEngine remotely to perform service. We have strict policies regarding the confidentiality of your data. If you require any further assurances please let us know BEFORE you sign the Customer Service Agreement.
